Ingredients:
3 cups (360 grams) all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup (50 grams) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup (227 grams) butter, softened
½ cup shortening / vegetable oil (118 ml)
3 cups (600 grams) white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 eggs
1 cup milk
Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat oven. Grease and flour a Bundt pan. Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl.
Step 2
In another large bowl, cream butter, shortening / vegetable oil, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Add flour mixture alternately with the milk. Remove half of the batter into a medium bowl, shift the cocoa into it and mix well.
Step 3
Pour the batter into the greased Bundt pan, alternating between the plain and the cocoa batter . Bake at 325 F (165 degrees C) for 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.Dust with some icing sugar. And Voila !!!
