Gobi Manchurian

Total time : 35 minutes Servings : 6-7 Cuisine : Indian


Ingredients : For the cauliflower batter :

  • 2 cup cauliflower florets ,medium sized

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1 tsp red chili powder

  • 1/4 cup rice flour

  • 1/4 cup cornflour

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil , for frying

For gravy :

  • 4 cloves of garlic , chopped

  • 1/2 tsp ginger , chopped

  • 2 spring onion whites , chopped

  • 1/4 cup capsicum , chopped

  • ½ cup of water

  • 1 tsp tomato sauce

  • 1 tsp chili sauce

  • 1 tsp soya sauce

  • 1 tsp cornflour + 1/2 cup water : cornflour slurry

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/2 tsp blactk pepper powder

  • 3-4 Spring onion greens

  • 2 tsp Oil


Instructions :


Step 1

In a mixing bowl, take the cauliflower florets. Add the batter ingredients and mix it. Add water little by little and mix until the cauliflower florets are coated well with the batter. The batter should not be runny. Fry the cauliflower florets in hot oil until golden brown. Remove and keep it on a kitchen tissue to drain off the excess oil.


Step 2

Heat oil in the pan at high flame. Add ginger, garlic, spring onion whites & capsicum and saute for 2 minutes. Add water , tomato sauce, soya sauce and salt . Stir it.

Next, add the cornflour slurry and mix. Let it come to a boil.


Step 3

Add salt, black pepper powder, spring onion greens & fried cauliflower florets. Mix it well so that cauliflower florets are coated well with the sauce. Sprinkle some spring onion greens on the top. And Voila !!!
