Goan Sweet and Sour Prawns

Ingredients :

  • 8-10 Prawns (medium) shelled and deveined with tails intact

  • ¾ cup Tomato ketchup

  • Salt to taste

  • Peppercorns , crushed

  • 1½ teaspoons Red chilli paste

  • 1 tablespoon Oil + to shallow fry

  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour

  • 1 tablespoon Garlic

  • 1 tablespoon Ginger

  • ½ teaspoon Celery

  • 4-5 Spring onions

  • 1 medium Green capsicum





Instructions :

Step 1 Put prawns with salt,peppercorns and a bit red chilli paste in a bowl, mix and set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2 Heat oil in a pan .Add cornflour to marinated prawns and mix well. Shallow-fry the prawns in hot oil till golden.


Step 3 Heat 1 tablespoon oil in another pan/wok. Add chopped garlic, ginger and celery and sauté well. Add remaining red chilli paste and mix well. Add roughly chopped spring onions and capsicum and sauté. Add ¼ cup water, salt, crushed peppercorns and tomato ketchup, mix well and cook till the sauce thickens. Add fried prawns, mix well and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 4 Serve hot garnished with spring onions. And Voila !!!
